In honor of International Biodiversity Day, DPL has taken a significant step to support conservation efforts in Sri Lanka by donating gloves to the Ministry of Environment. This year’s theme, “Be part of the Plan,” underscores the importance of collaborative action in preserving our planet’s rich biodiversity.
The gloves were specifically chosen to meet the requirements of the event, offering essential hand protection to the dedicated volunteers who participated in removing invasive thorny bushes, “Ulex Europaeus,” from Horton Plains National Park. This effort is crucial in maintaining the ecological balance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its unique and diverse flora and fauna.
On May 22nd, DPL team members joined forces with park officials, army personnel, and other stakeholders to tackle the invasive species. Their collective effort is a testament to the power of community action in safeguarding our natural heritage.
As a company committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, DPL is honored to contribute to such a meaningful cause. The dedication and hard work of our team and all the volunteers involved truly make a difference.
Let’s continue to “Be part of the Plan” and work together to protect our planet’s biodiversity.
