We’re thrilled to share the success of the recent International Industrial Associate Program hosted by DPL, in collaboration with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Netherlands, and organized by the National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention, Sri Lanka.
The aim of this program was to foster the development of chemistry and chemical engineering in Member States, with a special focus on chemical safety. We’re proud to announce that Mr. Francis Kayamba from Zambia and Mr. Thapelo Nthokana from Botswana actively participated in this program, bringing their expertise to the table.
During the internship period at DPL, they conducted an in-depth study on the control arrangements for Chlorine gas usage at our Premier Gloves facility in Biyagama EPZ. This effort has paved the way for a comprehensive report that we eagerly anticipate, including their valuable suggestions.
The closing meeting of this intensive 3-week program took place on 14th September at DPL Head Office, chaired by Mr. Chandika Rathnasiri – Director Engineering and Projects. We were honored to have officials from the Chemical Weapon Convention and the Ministry of Defense Sri Lanka in attendance.
DPL remains committed to contributing to global chemical safety, and this program is just one step toward that goal.
